winter session of {THE BABES}

I call them "The Babes" because they are the nieces and nephew on my side of the family and are still just so tiny and fun!  Yes, I am the lucky aunt to these adorable little ones and we had so much fun playing in the snow one afternoon.  I say "we" but mostly I think me, my brother and sister in laws had fun, the babes were not amused for most of it.  This might be one of my most FAVORITE sessions so far!  this first image just makes me laugh every time I see it!  Not happy to be on the cold ground.  :)

COME ON OVER!

A FEW {CHANGES}!!!

So, I have been thinking about this for a while and since I'm starting to get big and pregnant, I decided now is a better time than any to announce that I will no longer be shooting weddings... for a while.  I am OBSESSED with weddings but I think it's time for a break at least.

BUT, I would LOVE to still capture any baby, family, graduation, bridals, engagements, or any other portraits you would like!  I am just getting to the point where an all day event is too much. 

I have also decided to lower my portrait session price.  Lately, photography has been too much of a business for me and not so much... ART and that is what I am craving.  So starting Jan. 1, 2012 a 1 hr. portrait session is $50.  That gives you a disc of all images!!  And I edit our very favorites (black and white, sepia, cross process, etc.)  If you want more specifics on locations, clothing changes, etc. email me at kaylabugphotography@gmail.com

I long to do stylized portrait sessions where we tell a story about YOU!  And where I really get the chance to be creative and wild.  For example, one of my very good friends is having a home birth in March and has asked me to do a birth story, (so freaking excited, I can't stand it!)  I want to be creatively challenged and this is one opportunity I could not pass up!  Thanks Cassey!

I still have 2 weddings I need to post and some more beautiful bridal portraits, but I needed to announce this asap!  :)

Sister Hirano {Seattle, Washington Mission}

Meet my GORGEOUS friend!  She has been such a huge part in me loving photography and we're just almost the same person in some ways.  We love everything crafty, and weddings, and vintage, whimsical things, and well.. love in general.  She has been called by God to serve 18 months spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Seattle, Washington Mission.  She leaves in September and I will miss her alot!  But I'm excited to have a pen pal!  Normally missionary pictures are pretty..boring.  So carianne and I decided to go out and have an adventure.  It seems whenever we do this, there are big scary dogs just waiting to pounce on us.  :)  Anyways, I LOVED taking pictures of this free spirited woman!  P.S.  the picture below is the HAPPIEST PICTURE I'VE EVER SEEN!!!  XOXO

Prestann + The Pickle

Prestann might be one of my favorite people in the whole world!  I am always so excited for family get togethers because of her.. no offense to the rest of my family. haha  This was at a family Christmas party, and Prestann got ahold of a pickle and had it in her grasp for like half an hour or more.  I was loving it!  She has lately been smiling with a crinkle nose and it is my favorite.  I know that these pictures aren't technically correct, or artistic but I don't care!  They are how life is and should be, full of imperfections and laughter, and a bit of silly-ness.  Enjoy!!
